Paris – Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino was in Paris yesterday for a meeting of the Urban Land Institute, where he participated in a panel on urban transformation alongside the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, and former Mayor of Miami, Manny Diaz. The mayor then paid his respects to Charlie Hebdo, bring of flowers to the editorial department. During the visit, Marino also met the Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, who suggested sharing the organization of the meeting of European capital mayors scheduled in Paris for March 26. The two mayors also spoke of the possibility for the two cities to participate together in EU call for proposals. “Putting together two cities – explains Marino – can create economies of scale in the purchase of goods and services, by achieving lower costs within an absolutely transparent path.” (9colonne)
