Feb. 13 – For the 45th edition of the Book Fair in Brussels (scheduled from 26 February to 2 March at the Tour & Taxis), the Italian Cultural Institute of the city – in collaboration with the Italian publishing association and the Mondadori Foundation – brings in an all-female cast. “Je vous écris d’Italie: cinq voix de femmes” presents: five Italian writers, Helena Janeczek, Michela Marzano, Melania Mazzucco, Francesca Melandri, and Elisabetta Rasy; a translator, Martine Van Geertruijden; and a publishing specialist, Mariarosa Bricchi. “Five female voices speak of today. Our choice was dictated by the strength and originality of their view on Italy’s contemporary reality,” explains the director of the Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels, Paolo Grossi, according to whom “readers will discover these fine authors, who will introduce them to a different Italy, away from clichés and for this even more fascinating and surprising.” (Red)
