Feb. 16 – Eduardo De Filippo is once again a star at the Italian House of Barcelona. After a weekend dedicated to Oscar-winner Paolo Sorrentino, the institution is now planning, for today, tomorrow and Wednesday, a “Tribute to Eduardo,” to remember and praise the great Neapolitan playwright, director and actor with his movies: “Questi fantasmi” (Monday), “Marriage Italian Style” (Tuesday), and “Napoli milionaria” (Wednesday). “A civil author, actor of his time,” Dario Fo commented while describing De Filippo’s genius at his funeral, thirty years ago. A versatile exponent of Italian culture. He was a playwright, author and actor, a writer-director of his own works, contributing to the evolution of Italian theater in the same way as Goldoni and Pirandello.
