Feb. 20 – The Italian Cultural Institute of Moscow inaugurates a series devoted to the history of contemporary Italian fashion and design. The first meeting starts with a bang, on Valentino, whose works combined Italian and French fashion traditions, making history as one of the most illustrious representatives of ‘”haute couture” and as a designer of a “wearable” luxury. The event takes place on February 25 at the headquarters of the Institute at 7pm. The conference – entitled “Valentino’s winning duo” – will see the intervention of Ilektra Canestri, journalist and fashion, design and architecture analyst, assiduous collaborator of “Elle”, “Interior” and “Aeroflot Premium.” Canestri teaches at the British Higher School of Art and Design (Moscow). Her articles focus on the history of fashion, the contemporary fashion industry, the history of styles and modern design.
