Feb. 24 – The University of Parma is becoming increasingly international, thanks to its research, education and innovation. In the field of polymeric materials, the University shines through a program “Made in Parma” baptized Suprabarrier. Suprabarrier, which stands for SUPRAmolecular polyolefins as oxygen BARRIER materials) is a major European project led by the Italian University. The project, which will have its kick-off meeting on Feb. 27, is coordinated by Professor Enrico Dalcanale of the Chemistry Department, and funded for 2015-2018 as part of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) of the Horizon 2020 program. Suprabarrier was the only Italian project approved in the first MSCA “call,” on a total of 19 funded and 101 presented projects. Specifically, Suprabarrier aims to train high profile professionals in the field of new generation polymeric materials for the food packaging industry and healthcare.
