Dushanbe – Tajikistan is about to come under the scrutiny of an OSCE monitoring mission for the parliamentary elections scheduled for Sunday. Democratic Party representative Marietta Tidei, currently in the Central Asia country, is serving as special coordinator to the more than 150 observers in Tajikistan. “Parliamentary elections in Tajikistan – emphasizes Tidei – represent an important test for democracy, after the presidential consultations held in 2013: on that occasion, the OSCE raised several issues with respect to the democratic nature of the electoral process.” (9Colonne)
