Stockholm – Seven students attached to the PHOS Project at the University of Pisa are getting ready to travel to Sweden, where they will help test on board a space probe a device entirely designed and built by them. The PHP (Pulsating Heat Pipe) – a kind of “space heater” – will be launched into orbit on March 19 from the space base of Kiruna, in order to be tested in a reduced gravity environment. PHOS was the only Italian project to have been selected to participate in the Rexus / BEXUS program – Rocket and Balloon Experiments for University Students, sponsored by the ESA in collaboration with other agencies, involving students from all over Europe.
