Rostov – The Italian group Zanichelli Mechanics (Zacmi), manufacturer of lines, plant and equipment for the processing of food products, signed an agreement that will see it invest €80 million to build two canned food production plants in the Rostov region. According to the official reports of the regional authorities, the facilities for vegetable and tomatoe processing will be built in Semikarakorsk and Volgodon, and both projects will be completed by 2019. The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Rostov Minister of Agriculture, the managers of the canning factory in Semikarakorsk, and Zacmi. The Fair “Green Week,” held in Berlin January 15-24, served as backdrop to the agreement. Thanks to the new Zacmi facilities, the amount of canned vegetables produced in the region will triple.
