Mar. 18 – The countdown for the Milan Expo (from May 1 to October 31) has officially begun. Among the 145 countries that will be featured in the event, there is also Hungary, which presented its pavilion at the Italian Institute Culture of Budapest. The appointment is scheduled for March 23 at 4pm, with the participation of Géza Szőcs, Commissioner General for Expo for the Hungarian government. “The philosophy that inspired Hungary’s participation – reads a statement by the IIC – is the interaction between healthy foods, healthy lifestyles, food security and the conservation of biodiversity for future generations. ” “From the purest source” is the theme chosen, with three main topics to group the offer: healthy traditions that present the Hungarian quality agricultural model, mosaic and family based, as opposed to intensive monocultures; Land of Water, with the wealth of water resources and thermal baths that distinguishes Hungary; and the legacy for the future, which includes the role of research and innovation for the protection of local plant and animal species (“hungaricums”) and the importance of organic farming opposite genetic mutations.
