Herat – The Arena Base Camp, in Herat, held yesterday the transition ceremony between the sharpshooters “Garibaldi” Brigade and the Alpine Brigade “Julia” at the helm of Train Advise Assist Command West, the NATO multinational command that operates in the western region of Afghanistan within the Mission Support Resolute. Brigadier General Maurizio Angelo Scardino ceded control to Brigadier General Michele Risi in the presence of the Chief of the Defence, General Claudio Graziano, the commander of NATO forces in Afghanistan, US General John F. Campbell, the Italian Ambassador in Kabul, Luciano Pezzotti, and the highest civil and military authorities of the Afghan province of Herat. (9Colonne)
