Melbourne – Australia and Taiwan are the most promising markets of the Pacific Ocean for Italian wine and extra virgin olive oil exports. 2014 was a golden year for two of Italy’s leading agribusiness products. Australia imported wine for 8.5 million liters, with a value of €35.4 million, placing Italy third among importers (after New Zealand and France). The island of Taiwan, on the other hand, registered a boom in sales of extra virgin olive oil in 2014, which doubled to €17 million. This was revealed during the two commercial focus presented at Vinitaly and Sol & Agrifood, the two fairs dedicated to wine and quality agrifood that come to an end today at VeronaFiere. (9Colonne)
