Buffalo – The Italian community in Buffalo, composed mainly of southerners, but also families originally from Friuli, Tuscany, and Veneto, is a united one, proud of its land. It’s this very same community that has welcomed with affection the group of students visiting from Torremaggiore, in the province of Foggia. The students, thanks to the diligence of the Association Torremaggiore-Buffalo inspired by Gaetano D’Andrea, will begin an experience in the local school. The student delegation was accompanied by a group of entrepreneurs from Foggia, who yesterday met the founder of Tarantino Foods, a food distribution company present in the northeast United States. Tarantino’s American adventure began with a small banquet for the sale of fruit in the streets of Buffalo. Greeted with warmth and affection from the Italian community in Buffalo, the Foggia students and entrepreneurs have the unique opportunity to raise their awareness of what it means to be “an Italian emigrated barehanded, and who barehanded have achieved great things in this nation, making Italy a myth.” (9Colonne)
