Apr. 27 – Elisa Simonelli’s book entitled “The country where everything is possible” has arrived overseas. The presentation of the book will take place in New York, at the Casa Italiana Zerilli Marimo on April 29. During the debate on “The Myth of the American success: do we have to leave Italy?” (Moderated by Antonio Monda), the essay published by Giulio Perrone will find the right platform to illustrate its 22 success stories in the world of literature, journalism and film (the book features interviews with Vespa, Massimo Giannini, Pupi Avati, Umberto Veronesi and many others). Simonelli, author of the book, will take the stage alongside Elena Attala Perazzini (author of ““Via da noi. Italiani ma in America,” twelve stories of Italians who decided to leave). By supporting two opposing views, the authors will present their books and discuss how Italians can achieved success: to live in Italy or moving away. Speakers include Mario Fratti (playwright), Elisabetta Volpe (researcher at the neuro-immunology center of Saint Lucia in Rome) and Luca Lanzillotta (Professor of Italian at Dickinson College). Simonelli, journalist, former correspondent for Porta a Porta, author and presenter for Rai Educational, is editor of magazines and editorial director for INC and Galactic. She published the essay “Emozioni in diretta: i giovani preferiscono la televisione” (Franco Angeli, 2004), and various short stories and poems in anthologies published by Giulio Perrone (2013; 2014).
