Apr. 28 – The Divine Comedy in 100 terracotta tiles: this is the idea behind the work of sculptor and ceramist Enzo Babini. Dedicated to Dante’s masterpiece, the exhibition of Babini’s works will be hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest in a show that will be inaugurated on 7 May (at 6pm). The exhibition, entitled “One hundred terracotta tiles narrate the Divine Comedy”, is part of the activities promoted by the Italian diplomatic-consular network and the Insittutes of Culture to celebrate the 750th anniversary of Dante’s birth. The exhibition will remain open until May 21. “Each panel – explains the presentation note released by the Italian Cultural Institute – represents a canto of Dante’s masterpiece, illustrating the key scenes in an extraordinary synthesis.” Babini, for over twenty years, has organized solo and group exhibitions in Italy and abroad. The hallmark of his work is the relationship between the material and the immaterial, thanks to which he reaches original results.
