Chongqing – “This is a great country, with large growth” and the Chongqing municipality “is one of the highlights of this growth,” commented Paolo Gentiloni during his visit to China. The Minister defined Italy’s presence in the Chinese metropolis as strategic, and thus inaugurated the new premises of the Consulate. “We are proud – added Gentiloni – to be one of the first European countries to invest in Chongqing, because we consider it a center of strategic development for China.” The Consulate has been active for more than a year, headed by Consul Sergio Maffettone: the new headquarters is located on the 49th floor of one of the Jiefangbei skyscrapers.
