May 4 – An Ambassador of Italian dance with its extraordinary performances around the world, the Milan Ballet prepares to land in Morocco. On Tuesday, May 19 the Ballet stages in Rabat “Viva Verdi,” an elegant tribute to the famous Italian composer. The show – under the artistic direction of Maestro Carlo Pesta and choreography by Agnese Omodei Salé and Federico Veratti – has already attracted thousands of viewers worldwide and is a unique opportunity to discover Verdi’s musical masterpieces. “Viva Verdi” is divided in two acts of the great ballets drawn from the most beautiful works of Giuseppe Verdi: La Traviata, Aida, The Sicilian Vespers, Othello, Macbeth… The dancers of the Milan Ballet will, once again, excite and enchant audiences. The versatile artists, classical to contemporary dancers, will combine great technique with significant interpretative skills. The event – scheduled at 8pm at the Théâtre National Mohammed V of Rabat – is promoted by the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute and the National Theatre Mohammed V in collaboration with the Opera Festival Maroc – Hesperis Association. The event in Rabat is just one of many “trips” abroad starring the Milan Ballet, as it was the first Italian company to perform at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow (1999) and in 2011, during the Year of Italian Culture in Russia, it was invited by the Russian Ministry of Culture in Moscow for the Youth Theatre – RAMT dance season. Acclaimed on prestigious stages in England, Ireland, Switzerland, Spain and Germany, the Ballet continues to be one of the most popular Italian companies worldwide. (Red)
