Berlin – The “Path of Peace” is a 520 km hiking trail that crosses Trentino, along the front line of the First World War. This “path of memory” is the focus of a documentary film “Der Friedensweg” produced and directed by German director Peter Schlickenrieder and shot in Trentino. For the film, the director wanted to emphasize the different ways of using these routes, not only walking, but also mountain biking, horseback riding or paragliding. He relies on a series of interviews to locate the sites within the historical context of the conflict. Made in summer 2014, with the organizational support of Trentino Marketing, the documentary was broadcast last December in four episodes on German television Bayerischer Rundfunk and on ARD, totaling over four and a half million viewers.
