(May 25) At the 68th World Health Assembly there’s also Italy. At the Palais des Nations in Geneva, Silvia Lefebvre D’Ovidio intervened as speaker and board member of the Fondazione Maruzza, for years at the forefront for the development of children palliative care. Today, along with only five other testimonial chosen worldwide, Silvia Lefebvre D’Ovidio stepped in to talk about the “Implementation of the WHO resolution on palliative care: ensuring access to all children.” The Fondazione Maruzza was invited to participate as a model of excellence for its daily work and for its commitment for the inclusion of the pediatric detail in the Law 38/2010 on palliative care and pain therapy, guaranteeing the right of every child suffering from an incurable disease to be taken care of by trained and specialized professionals in a sensitive area for the patient himself and his family. “I am honored to be in Geneva to represent Italy – said Silvia Lefebvre in her speech – When healing is not possible, the quality of life becomes an inalienable right. Incurable does not mean untreatable”. (Red)
