Montreal – The famous casts of Pompeii are being perfectly reproduced, in scale 1:1, thanks to 3D printing technologies. The first copies will soon be on display in Canada, to then embark upon a global traveling exhibition. The project is part of the restoration initiative, currently underway, that seeks to bring back to the light the men, women and children who died in 79 AD following the Vesuvius eruption of Vesuvius and first unearthed during the excavations of 1863. The Superintendency for Archaeological Heritage has requested and obtained the collaboration of the Italian Wasp (Massa Lombarda, Ravenna), a leader in 3D printing in Italy. (9Colonne)
