London – A significant advance in the understanding of space-time and its microscopic nature has been made, thanks to an article published in the scientific journal Nature Communications. The paper relates the first results of the Humor experiment: Heisenberg Uncertainty Measured with Opto-mechanical Resonators is the first experiment to have designed and created a whole new way to probe in extremely small dimensions space – time. The experiment is a collaboration between the European Laboratory for Nonlinear Spectroscopy (LENS), the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Florence, the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (INFN), the National Research Council (CNR), the University of Trento and Camerino, and the Fondazione Bruno Kessler.
