29 June, 2015 – Eni’s presence in Kazakhstan is strengthened by a new agreement with KazMunayGas. The MoU lays down the conditions for the transfer to Eni of 50% of the subsoil exploitation rights for the research and production of hydrocarbons in the Isatay block, located in the Kazakh waters of the Caspian Sea. The block is estimated to have considerable potential for oil resources, and will be managed by a joint operating company formed by Eni and KMG. The transfer should be completed within a few months, following the approval of the transaction by the Republic of Kazakhstan. (Red)
