29 July, 2015 – ItaStra is the School of Italian Language for Foreigners at the University of Palermo. Founded in 2008, the School promotes educational, training and research activities in the field of teaching Italian as a second and foreign language. The activities of the School, which continues to grow year after year, are differentiated on several levels, with the common goal to put the learner at the center of the teaching experience and to propose a model of language ready to use, for cultural and social purposes also. To promote itself, the School subscribes and implements international cooperation agreements with universities in different parts of the world. Today, there are dozens of foreign universities with which the School has signed deals on teaching and training. A strong link is that of ItaStra with China. A few days ago, Chongqing hosted an event dedicated to Italy, but especially to Palermo and the School of Italian Language for Foreigners of the University. The event, organized by Wang Shou – collaborator with ItaStra, was targeted at a Chinese audience passionate about Italy in all its cultural aspects: fashion, cooking, music, the economy. The special event crowded the prestigious venue of Lamborghini’s cultural representation. Wang Shou decided to adopt a simple but rigorous formula: that of talk shows, quizzes, interviews, and performances. ItaStra commented on the event: “it’s a great way to be able to say once again that we are here to show Italy and the Italian in Italy to the world: we welcome, we don’t reject anyone. At all latitudes.” (Red)
