30 July, 2015 – Reality, legend, fantasy, and theater. Harlequin is ready for a new adventure Down under. From August 22 to September 12, Fondazione Aida will be on tour with “Il sogno di Arlecchino” (The dream of Harlequin – A journey trough Commedia dell’Arte): a dynamic and exciting journey into the world of Commedia dell’Arte that cleverly mixes history and legend. The show – starring Pino Costalunga (who also wrote and directed the play), Andrea Bellacicco and Jacopo Pagliari – will take the stage in schools and theaters of major Australian cities: Sunshine Coast, Lismore, Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne. The tour will feature more than 15 replicas spanning more than 5,000 kilometers across Australia. For the fourth year, Fondazione Aida returns to the oceanic continent after the first successes of the 2011 tour, when the public and critics greeted the shows and workshops with warmth and enthusiasm. The play will be accompanied by a Commedia dell’Arte and its masks workshop dedicated to students, teachers and adults. The tour is produced with the assistance of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture and the Autonomous Province of Trento – Emigration, Office and in collaboration with the Italian Institutes of Culture in Melbourne and Sydney, the Embassy in Canberra, and the Italian Cultural Centre in Canberra .
