Destination Shenzhen, China. That’s where the creative people of the world gather to challenge each other in design. Last year, “cactus” won an award in the student’s category. The piece, owned by the brand Urge Design, was designed by Gian Piero Giovannini from Bologna. And now, The Emilia capital invites its designers to apply for a second round at theSZ Day – Shenzhen Design Award for young talents. This year in its second edition, the theme is “Transformation: mission design.” Bologna, like other cities of the network, preselects the best local projects that will be submitted to the jury in Shenzhen. The contest will award the projects capable of promoting and increasing environmental sustainability, social and economic development, and improve the quality of life within cities. The goal is to promote the creation of products that can contribute positively to the transformation of a city’s socio-economic system. Applications must be submitted before 1pm on September 8, as indicated on www.incredibol.net and in the “Tenders and Competitions” Site of the City of Bologna. (Caf)
