The eventt will see the participation of the highest institutional ranks of the sector, including, on Italy’s behalf, Pierluigi Pirelli, CEO for ELV, a company owned by the Italian Space Agency (30%) and Avio (70%). “This is a very particular moment for the European space industry, and for the Italian one – here represented by ELV – declared Roberto Battiston, ISA President – because these agreements set the foundations for the development of European carrier rockets. These, from 2020, will bring to space both institutional and commercial payloads from the Kourrou base.” The new carrier rockets include the Ariane 6 and the Vega C, developed in Italy by ELV.
