Lima – It’s a historic victory for the women’s national under 18 team, who are now World Champions in Peru. The victory in the final against the United States resulted in a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-16). The team coached by Marco Mencarelli, who after four years brought back to Itay the world title last gained in 2011 with the under 18 male team, confirmed its superiority with a clear win in the tournament: eight victories in as many races. In this category, this is Italy’s the first historical gold medal in a World Cup, after the Silver medal (2003 Stack) and three bronzes (1995 Poitiers, 1997 Chiang Mai, and 2005 Macau). (9colonne)
