19 August, 2015 – At the Musée de la Civilisation de Québec, this year a dozen groups, including dancers and choreographers, will visit the studio of the “Corps rebelles” (exhibition ending February 14, 2016) to carry out unique performances in an exclusive place. It’s an opportunity to discover the different paths of choreographic creation, which the audience never really witnesses on stage. With the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Montreal, September 2-10 will be the perfect moment to learn more about one of the most important Italian choreographers, Paolo Mohovich, engaged in a collaboration with the Ballet of the Valencian Community for the realization of the dance ballet “Castor and Pollux”. With this work, Mohovich brings to the stage the story of two brothers united by fraternal complicity but separated by fate. The first only a mortal and the second a half-god; both are aware that their different nature will lead to a different fate. It is an interesting starting point to give rise to different dynamic games, opposing a different state of vulnerability to strength, courage and submission; a game in which physical and psychological feelings intersect. An important part of this new creation is inspired by classical iconography, as part of a tribute to the values transmitted by mythology. “Castor and Pollux” is performed by two dancers of the Ballet of the Valencian Community, Esaul Llopis (in the role of Pollux) and Alejandro Amores (in that of Castor).
