Brussels – The new Italian team of the EESC, the European Economic and Social Committee, has been selected. The Italian delegation will take office in the coming days, along with those of the other 27 EU countries, and will remain in the committee or the next five years (2015-2020). In addition to the well-deserved reappointment of Luca Jahier and Giuseppe Guerini, other members include Pietro Barbieri, spokesman for the National Forum of the Third Sector. The EESC, the EU advisory body that issues opinions on proposals for European law, and expresses itself on other urgent matters, has among its tasks to act as a bridge between the EU institutions and organized civil society in Member States.
