September 10, 2015 – “My goal in life is to become the person my dog thinks I am,” once claimed Robert Anson Heinlein – American science fiction author. A claim that Andrea Alfieri has made his. Born in Umbria but raised in Tuscany, Alfieri is a photographer. The artist begins taking photographs at an early age, first as an amateur with various clubs and associations, then as a true profession that allows him to refine his visual sensitivity. In recent years, the photographer has photographed and exhibited in many cities: Istanbul, Paris, Dubai, London, but also Berlin, Fez, Samarkand and the Uzbek desert. The last city “framed” by Alfieri is New York. And “My Apple – New York Visions (in Stuttgart)” is the title of the exhibition that opens on Friday, September 11 and will close on Sunday, October 25th at the Italian Cultural Institute in Stuttgart (Kolbstr. 6, Stuttgart). The Institute organized the exhibition in collaboration with Volkshochschule Reutlingen. Alfieri’s New York is unusual, it’s a postcard, a souvenir that certifies a journey. It’s the “distilled” mood, the spirit, the soul of the metropolis, a horizontal city through which life flows. (Gil)
