September 17th, 2015 – The opening of the Italy Area in the 57th International Engineering Fair in Brno – the most important industrial fair in Central and Eastern Europe, this year dedicated to measuring, control, automation and regulation systems – received great attention from the public sector and institutional representatives. The inaugural event, held recently in collaboration with the Franco-Czech Chamber of Commerce, was attended by the Italian Ambassador Aldo Amati, the President of the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce Gianfranco Pinciroli, and the President Franco-Czech Chamber of Commerce Constantin Kinsky. “The Italy Area is one of the most important showcases for Italian companies in the industrial sector who want to approach the Central and Eastern European markets. The success of this opening shows that the interest is amply reciprocated by local professionals,” commented President Pinciroli. The local authorities present at the inauguration were the general manager of the exhibition center in Brno, Jan Kulis, and the president of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, Vladimir Dlouhy, who in his speech stressed the importance of such initiatives to encourage trade and technology exchanges between countries. Ambassador Amati and President Pinciroli were also officially received by Director Kulis, during a meeting which focused on planning new partnerships between the main Czech and Italian fairgrounds. The goal is to enhance Italy’s presence in Moravia, also in consideration of the many industry excellences and the excellent business opportunities offered by the markets of Central Europe. The ambassador and the president also visited the Italian exhibitors present in Brno. “Many of our companies confessed that they were here for the first time – said the diplomat – and this is particularly important for us. When Italian SMEs decide to invest to enter new foreign markets, it is our duty to give all necessary support and to specifically ensure that this participation is not a sporadic event.” As pointed out by the Czech media, one of the most visited attractions of the Fair is the industrial robot Racer, developed by the Turin-based company Comau, a machine with a mechanical arm that can imitate the three pointers of Italian NBA champion Marco Belinelli. The Fair, attended by more than 1600 exhibitors within sixteen major categories, will close on September 18. The 2014 edition saw the participation of over 76,000 visitors from 53 countries. (Red)
