September 18, 2015 – It’s not an easy film. It deals with the issue of violence against children, it talks about volunteer doctors, and about the terrorist attacks in Syria. All through the eyes of a young doctor who decides to volunteer for work in a field hospital where, between suffering and the desire to save the children victims of landmines, he will meet his fate. “Eddy” is a 2015 film written, directed by and starring Simone Borrelli. The movie received the institutional support of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and the recognition of “Official Film of Human Rights” during its world premiere in Strasbourg on October 15, 2014. And now “Eddy” will be screened on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in Tirana, at the European University (11am) and at the Film Academy of Marubi (9.30pm). Both events – promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana as part of Ihrffa-International Human Rights Film Festival of Albania, now in its tenth edition – will see the presence of the director, who will talk about the making of the film, and of the objectives the film: raising public awareness on war, too often seen only through the eyes of a camera that informs us but doesn’t let us into the lives of those who are living it; and finding a way out to a better future from a situation that seems to be sowing only hatred and violence.
