Santiago De Cuba – The University of Florence is taking part in the historic visit of Pope Francis to Cuba. Today, the Pope met with families in Santiago de Cuba, the second largest city in the island: the event takes place in what is one of the largest churches in the country. And this Cathedral features a touch of made in Italy, as it was subjected in recent years to a recovery and consolidation intervention which saw the participation of a research group from the Architecture Department of the University of Florence, led by professor Michele Paradiso.
