September 29th, 2015 – Trade between Lombardy and Luxembourg amounts to €307 million for the first six months of 2015, for a 3% increase compared to the same period of the previous year. Overall, the commercial exchange between Italy and Luxembourg amounted to €750 million. The data reflect intense economic relations, which have been the subject of a meeting between Carlo Sangalli, President of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, and a Luxembourg delegation that included Finance Minister Pierre Gramegna, Ambassador Janine Finck and the President of the Italian Chambers of Luxembourg and Belgium Fabio Morvilli. Milan, with €174 million in trade, accounts for 23% of the national figure (72% of imports and 20% of exports): exchanges with Luxembourg grew by 70% in just one year; and the city of Milan accounts for a third of national imports. Lombardy exports mainly food products (€22 million) and metals (€19 million) while it imports principally metal products (€33 million) and rubber (€17 million). The predominant regional imports are technology, computers and electronic components, as well as important products for the regional manufacture, mechanical and electrical industries. On the other hand, exports consist chiefly in intermediate industrial goods, such as chemicals and rubber-plastic, as well as products related to fashion and food. (Red)
