September 30th, 2015 – It’s the second major agreement within a few weeks in favor of the internationalization of the Italian trade fair system. The Italian Exhibition and Trade Fair Association (AEFI) in recent days signed an agreement with the Taiwan Exhibition and Convention Association (TECA). The agreement was signed by Kitty Wong, vice president of TECA, and Pietro Piccinetti, AEFI Internationalization Coordinator on behalf of President Ettore Riello. “This is an important new step promoted by our association in the process of internationalization of the Italian trade fair system – says Riello – Trade between the EU and Taiwan has increased more than eightfold over the last two decades: by making the most of the current economic growth of the country, we can to pool both the specific expertise of AEFI members in the organization of events dedicated to specific sectors, and the growing interest of Taiwan for Italian products, from consumer goods (furniture , fashion, jewelry, cosmetics, motor vehicles, cars, agricultural and food products) to machines and mechanical appliances.” Internationalization is no longer a choice, but a necessary, important and strategic element that the exhibition industry can no longer ignore to support the growth of Italian companies in a global scenario. The agreement focuses on: the exchange of information on the situation and evolution of the two economic systems; the exchange of information and promotion of their respective exhibitions; the organization of missions, meetings and seminars to foster networking among companies; conducting studies and research on common interests. The first operational step will see a delegation from Taiwan visit Italy in the month of November. “The agreement with the Taiwan Exhibition and Convention Association represents another important step in the internationalization project pursued by AEFI, as well as an excellent opportunity for our exports to the Asian country. In 2014, Italy was the 23rd trading partner of Taiwan and the scope for potential development in this area is broad and interesting,” concluded Pietro Piccinetti. (Red)
