Miami – The new frontiers of biotechnology and the use of innovative materials and tools were the key aspects of a series of meetings organized by the Miami Italian Scientific Community at the University of Miami – Miller School of Medicine and at The Beacon Council, in the presence of Gloria Marina Belleli, Consul General of Italy in Miami. The two meetings wanted to promote a study carried out by Professor Paolo Di Nardo from Tor Vergata University focused on the most innovative technologies for regenerative therapy of organs, such as innovative biocompatible materials and fabrics transplants obtained with 3D printers. This is particularly important scientific research considering the many critical issues in health and society caused by the progressive increase of patients suffering from degenerative diseases, the high cost of transplants, the shortage of donors and the possible rejection of transplanted organs.
