Brussels – The National Institute of Nuclear Physics has joined Human Brain Project (Hbp) as leader for the Wavescales (Wave Scaling Experiments and Simulations) group, one of four winners out of 57 proposals of the Call for Expressions of Interest (CEOI) for HBP. With €500 million in funding provided between 2013 and 2023, HBP is one of the flagship projects of the European Commission (Future and Emerging Technology – FET) active for the next decade, alongside the one on graphene. “We are extremely pleased that the skills and technologies of the INFN are applicable to fields so apparently far from its mission,” said Fernando Ferroni, president of INFN. “The study of the brain is a fascinating field and a key project for neuroscience. And the multidisciplinary approach is proof that by working together we can achieve important successes”. (9Colonne)
