October 16th, 2015 – Italy is on display in the Czech Republic, with over fifty Italian construction companies on a mission to Prague. “We want to support companies that want to enter the Czech market,” stressed the president of the Italian-Czech Chamber Gianfranco Pinciroli, who recalled how “between the two countries a strong historical link in the construction sector has always existed, as a good part of Prague was built by Italian architects.” Yesterday, the Council Chamber of City Hall in the Czech capital hosted the conference “Italy & the Czech Republic – Building Together”. The appointment, followed by B2B meetings, was organized by the Italian Embassy and the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with ANCE, OICE and the Italian Trade Agency. The meeting was opened by Ambassador Aldo Amati, who stressed that the initiative responds to the need of Italian businesses to intercept the significant flow of EU funds for the infrastructural modernization of the Czech Republic. The Ambassador also stressed that Italy’s international renowned excellence in the sector allows the country to enter the Czech market with the best credentials. The Italian diplomat then left the microphone to the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Development Simona Vicari, who recalled that Italy is one of the biggest exporters to the Czech Republic, a clear signal that the bilateral relationship should be closely accompanied with new partnerships, joint ventures, common investments for innovation and technology. “The Czech Republic with its central location in Europe is a vital hub for many transit corridors, while the competitiveness of its economy in the long term depends on modernizing infrastructure – said senator Vicari – In the past decade, several large Italian companies have invested in this country, creating about 3,800 new jobs and investments for €600 million. And all this, the construction sector had the lion’s share.” (PO / red)
