Canton – The Dean of the University of Padua Rosario Rizzuto is in China to lay the foundations for a collaboration of ShanghaiTech and the University of Guangzhou. “The internationalization aspect – explains the Dean – is one of the cornerstones on which we want to work. We must prepare our students to increasingly difficult and global challenges, enabling them to better compete on the labor market at an international level.” After the first stop in Suzhou, the Dean visited ShanghaiTech, a center of excellence in the international scientific community, because it wants to move beyond “Made in China” to land on a more modern “Discovery in China,” employing international staff. ShanghaiTech’s network of partnerships includes some of the most renowned universities in the world, such as the University of California (Berkeley) and MIT. The journey of Dean Rizzuto comes to ends today, October 19, in Canton, where he will sign with the University of Guangzhou a bilateral agreement thanks to which 20 students will attend the PhD courses in Padua.
