October 27th, 2015 – “No one knows exactly when it made its first appearance, but in the nineteenth century ice cream is already known throughout Europe, as well as in America, with Italian gelato vendors, especially from Veneto”. The Italians in the World 2015 report by the Fondazione Migrantes emphasizes “today ice cream makers who emigrate abroad, no longer have the cart with the bicycle, they are not young boys with in the service of a rough master. Ice cream shops are opened after training in Italian centers of excellence”. And now the art of Italian ice cream – which over the years has grown to become synonymous with excellence and quality – is ready to conquer a new market. Sace, the insurance and financial group active in supporting exports, is ensuring €560,000 for an ice cream production plant by the Italian company Technogel, based in Grassobbio (Bergamo), a world leader in machinery for ice cream. Active since 1955 in more than 60 countries, the company exports innovative solutions worldwide, tailored to the needs of both small artisan producers and industrial producers of medium and large sizes. With this operation, Technogel enters the Saudi market – one of the countries with the greatest potential worldwide for Italian exports, in which SACE expects a 4.3% annual growth over the next four years for the mechanical engineering sector.
