October 30th, 2015 – “Sometimes, there is within us something dark that lights the spark of life…” once wrote Pier Paolo Pasolini, who “relives” in Buenos Aires thanks to an initiative scheduled for Nov. 2. Forty years after the death of the writer, the conference, entitled “Pier Paolo Pasolini and the Third World,” discusses the extraordinary personality that this Italian artist was, a keen observer of reality, a precursor of our times, writer, poet, author of unforgettable and revolutionary films, an intellectual and a militant. So the Argentine capital, also on the occasion of the Year of Italy in Latin America, decided to celebrate Pasolini with a day full of events: the conference (from 2pm to 9pm) will be held at the Universidad Tres de Febrero – Registered Rectorado (Juncal 1913) and is organized by the Italian Institute of Culture of Buenos Aires and the University of L’Aquila in collaboration with the Universidad Tres de Febrero. “The Tres de Febrero National University and the University of L’Aquila have organized this colloquium dedicated to Pier Paolo Pasolini on the fortieth anniversary of his death, with the support of the Italian Institute of Culture of Buenos Aires. During the event, – states the website of the IIC – experts will address different aspects of his literary, film, theatrical and non-fiction works, with particular attention to the complex articulations between the Pasolini universe and the Third World.” (Red)
