November 10th, 2015 – The historic axis Florence-Tianjin is developing a new commercial project between Italy and China. Ta Italy – Italian Food District is a distribution platform dedicated to Italian food in China. The structures of the first Italian Food District on Chinese soil are being completed on a total area of 22,000 square meters, of which 8.000 will be used as Cash & Carry, in city centers and within the Free Trade Zone established last April in Tianjin, a metropolis of 14 million inhabitants, 122 km from Beijing, the fourth Chinese city for GDP and first for per capita income average. Ta-Italy is a candidate to become the garrison of Italian food companies on the Chinese market and the largest center of Italian food and wine excellence in Asia. To support this ambition, Ta Italy can benefit not only from the development of the Free Trade Zone in Tianjin, but also from the port, the airport and road infrastructure linking the metropolitan area to Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong, as well as bundled commercial, customs, marketing and communication services designed for the Chinese market. Italian companies will therefore benefit from a modular and customized space to display their products and carry out direct sales and will have at their disposal areas for meetings, events and tastings, as well as large areas for logistics. The new center in Tianjin will be dedicated to “authentic” Made in Italy, characterized by three souls: a B2B area, divided into modules that characterize the Italian territory; a room for B2C; and a third dedicated to catering and professional cooking schools. The customer base of the new platform will range from distribution to wholesale, owners of supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and wine shops, families and lovers of gourmet Italian cuisine. In addition, by hosting events, exhibitions and training courses, Ta Italy will be able to attract a public of tourists through agreements with tour operators. Companies interested in the project can participate in exploratory missions to learn and evaluate in practice the reality that is being put into place. And to this regard, on November 14-16, a delegation of about 100 companies will fly to Beijing and then to Tianjin to visit the shopping areas of the new center and meet with government and customs authorities.
