November 13th, 2015 – Italian cinema is once again center stage abroad, thanks to Andy Garcia and Martha De Laurentiis who introduced “Non essere cattivo” and the whole team of Italian directors and actors to Hollywood. Their task, during the Cinema Italian Style 2015, is to cut the ribbon on the red carpet alongside the latest Italian Academy Award winner, Paolo Sorrentino, who wanted to “escort” Caligari’s movie stateside, along with Valerio Mastandrea, Luca Marinelli and Alessandro Borghi. The producer Nicola Giuliano was also present. And Mastandrea, for the tenacity with which he brought to the silver screen “Non essere cattivo,” and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi for her international success as an actress and now director, received the Cinema Italian Style Award 2015. The awards ceremony saw the young actress Dominik Garcia, daughter of Andy, hand the awards to the winners. Until November 16, the festival will introduce Italian movies, documentaries and short films even to the North American public. Today, the screening program includes the films of Francesca Archibugi, Maria Sole Tognazzi, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Piero Messina and the documentary: “Alfredo Bini – Unexpected Guest” by Simone Isola.
