Tehran – The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Graziano Delrio met with Jahanbakhsh Mozaffari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Rome. The meeting, on the eve of the important visit to Italy of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hassan Rouhani, was agreed upon in anticipation of Minister Delrio’s upcoming visit to Iran at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, Minister Abbas Akhundi. The Minister and the Ambassador agreed – said the Ministry in a statement – on the basis of historical ties between the two countries, on the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of infrastructure, transport, civil construction and technological innovation, to encourage growth and quality of life of citizens. Of particular interest are the infrastructure works for railways, construction and modernization of roads, the airport and port sectors, as networks to facilitate trade and cultural exchange. These elements will be a topic for discussion in preparation of Minister Delrio’s visit to Tehran.” (9Colonne)
