November 16th, 2015 – A journey through the stars to reconstruct, through the light they give off, the structure and evolution of the Universe. This is the “stellar” exploration brought to the Italian Cultural Institute in Hamburg by Leopoldo Benacchio, professor of the Astronomical Observatory of Padua. In Friday November 20 at 19 Benacchio will hold a conference on “Light – Messenger of the Universe.” 2015 was proclaimed by the UN International Year of Light for the world to raise awareness about the crucial role that light plays in everyday life and research: there is only one way to study the Universe, and that is to collect light from celestial objects and analyze it. Benacchio will guide the audience in understanding how, by capturing light, we can decipher the signals that come from stars and galaxies, and we can reconstruct the structure of the Universe, and discover the true nature of celestial objects .
