Prague – “The idea to raise funds for the Immunotherapy Laboratory wants to support a center of excellence in research, recognized by the international scientific community.” With these words, Aldo Amati, Italian Ambassador in Prague, opened the doors of the Embassy to cancer research. On 16 November, the Italian Embassy hosted a charity event in favor of the Immunotherapy Laboratory of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, directed by Luca Vannucci, the first Italian called to fill such a prestigious position. During the conference, Professor Vannucci outlined the achievements of his team in the field of cancer research and nanotechnology, to develop an integrated system of prevention and selective therapy. According to the professor, studies on the microenvironment of tumors are in an advanced stage, while the most relevant results concern the association between immunity changes in tissues and changes in their cellular structure. The ultimate goal is to develop a new tumor prevention system with the help of immunology and the most modern analytical tools. (9Colonne)
