Mombasa – Mombasa, Kenya, welcomes today the first leg of the Peace Caravan walk, which unites representatives of different faiths, organized by the Association “Cremona for Kenya”, and which will arrive in Nairobi tomorrow to greet Pope Francis, who is visiting the African country. Bringing a caravan to Kenya, with similar modes as those of the Perugia-Assisi march, was the idea of Licio D’Avossa in his meetings with Father Lagho, head of interreligious dialogue for the Catholic Diocese of Mombasa. Licio D’Avossa then presented the project to Pope Francis. The association “Cremona for Kenya” has been active for years in cooperation projects in the African country, for the construction of schools open to all children, and the Caravan of Peace sees the participation of the Municipality of Cremona, local associations that make up the peace table and the province of Cremona, as well as the Islamic Center “La Speranza” – which wrote a message to bring to Kenya for all faiths of the African country to coexist peacefully.
