Vienna – “We reiterated to the Austrian managers that control the former Hypo Alpe Adria Bank the extreme care with which the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region looks at the situation of the bank and its employees,” reported the President of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region Debora Serracchiani, who was in Vienna, accompanied by the Italian ambassador in Austria Giorgio Marrapodi. At the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, Serracchiani met with Wolfgang Nolz, chairman of the supervisory board of Hypo Alpe Adria Bank Bundesholding, Florian Schumi, a board member of the holding company and chairman of the board of Hypo Bank Italy, and Alfred Lejsek, deputy general manager and Business Banking Head to the Austrian Minister of Finance. President Serracchiani wanted to look over the conditions that preclude the sale of the Italian bank by a holding company controlled by the Austrian state. “Given the convincing expressions of interest put forth by investors – continued Serracchiani – we wanted to make it clear that both the Region and the highest Italian authorities are closely monitoring the situation of Hypo Bank.” (9Colonne)
