November 27th, 2015 – From April 2 to September 12, 2016, 20 years after the last edition, the Milan Triennale international exhibition returns to talk about ’21st Century, Design After Design’. Thanks to the synergistic action of the Italian representation in Portugal (the Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Milan Triennale) and of Portuguese authorities (the Mude, the Esad and the project managers of ‘Objects after Objects’) the event will have its juicy preview on December 3. The Portuguese capital will host the event at the Museu do Design and Fashion, one of the most interesting museums of fashion and design of the 20th and 21st century, for its wide collection and unique cultural space. Recognized by the Bureau International des Expositions, the XXI Trienniale intends to launch a daring challenge to the apparent collapse of the contemporary world, its contradictions and inconsistencies. In an era when the concept of quality of life – once basic needs are met – is in crisis, the exhibition gives new “cardinal points” and envisages the foundations of the culture of the future. (Sis)
