December 10th, 2015 – As the National Short Film Centre in Turin reminds us all, 21 December, in the northern hemisphere, is the shortest day of the year and, as such, is the day to celebrate short films. The Short Film Day is an initiative born in France in 2011 by the National Centre for Cinematography Animée et de l’Image, an initiative that has rapidly spread throughout Europe and today concerns more than fifty countries worldwide. The idea is to offer a window on the world of short films to the general public. For the Short Film Day 2015, the National Short Film Centre has set up a program of contemporary Italian short films that will be screened in 22 Italian cities and, thanks to the network of Italian Cultural Institutes, in 17 cities around the world, from Lisbon to Shanghai, from Sao Paulo to Addis Ababa. And in Sao Paulo, the appointment is at 7:30pm at the Italian Institute of Culture (Av. Higienópolis, 436). The event was sponsored by the National Short Film Centre of Turin / Italian Short Film Center in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute. This is the first time Sao Paulo hosts the Short Film Day 2015: the aim is to show the best Italian short films produced in recent years. The following movies will be screened: “L’attesa del maggio” (2014) by Simone Massi, “La salita” (2015) by Francesca Barison, “Eternit” (2015) by Giovanni Aloi, “Lo So Che Mi Senti” (2015) by Francesca Mazzoleni, “Mamma Mia” (2013) by Milena Tipaldo and Francesca Marinelli, “Ménage a trois” (2015) by Emanuele Daga and “Frankie” (2015) by Francesco Francio Mazza.
