December 14th, 2015 – A contamination process between South African culture and the goldsmith tradition of Made in Italy is underway. The government of South Africa has chosen the goldsmith center “Il Tarì” in Marcianise (Caserta) to create a pilot project dedicated to high vocational training in the art of jewelry, precious stone, jewelry design and watchmaking. The “JWP – Jewellery and watchmaker project” is an international courses program dedicated to students from South Africa that will be held at the Tari Design School – TADS, the Training School of the Marcianise Goldsmith Center. 25 aspiring goldsmiths in their 20s, selected following a scouting activity in Jewelry Schools and Engineering Universities across South Africa, will attend the courses, which will cover the study of the most popular and sophisticated goldsmith techniques, all the secrets of Haute Horlogerie and the complexity of design in the jewelry sector. The program of study lasts two years, during which the young South Africans will live in Italy. The project, organized by TADS in collaboration with the Government of South Africa and coordinated by the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa in Italy, was recently presented at the headquarters of Il Tarì. “We are very proud to host this initiative – said Vincenzo Giannotti, president of the goldsmith center – it’s a project that I pushed for when I was at the helm of TADS and that I now strongly support as president of Il Tarì. The school is critical to our business, because only good training can encourage the creation of companies of excellence. Our role in this exchange program is ensuring that the South African students find themselves at ease in our environment and in our territories and that this process of contamination represent a stimulus for our students, who will be able to train their creativity and expand their horizons.” (Red)
